The Rollo Davidson Trustees have announced that Dr. Hao Shen, an alumnus of Peking University and currently a researcher at the University of Wisconsin, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Rollo Davidson Prize. Established in 1976 in memory of mathematician Rollo Davidson (1944–1970), the prize recognizes outstanding early-career probabilists for their exceptional contributions to the field.
Dr. Shen earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Peking University in June 2008 before completing his Ph.D. at Princeton University in May 2013. He was honored for his "deep contributions to the theory of stochastic partial differential equations and the furthering of our understanding of stochastic Yang-Mills dynamics."
The 2025 prize was jointly awarded to two other recipients: Dr. Eliran Subag (Weizmann Institute) for his work on the geometry of spin glasses and Dr. Mark Sellke (Harvard University) for his research in high-dimensional optimization algorithms.
The Rollo Davidson Prize is awarded annually based on nominations reviewed by the prize trustees. For details, visit the official announcement: Rollo Davidson Prize.
